Need for Speed Payback is a racing arcade game, the events of which take place in the city of Fortune Valley. Complete freedom of movement in the open world becomes available from the very beginning of the story campaign. The history of street racing begins with an unsuccessful task, the result of which is the detention of Tyler by the police. In exchange for saving the hero, they offer to work for Schuler, which he agrees to. Six months later, he decides to fight the cartel and challenges them.In the game Need for Speed: Payback, there are several game zones:

Silver Rock - a city area with large industrial zones and sharp turns on the streets.

Liberty Desert - a desert with open territory and off-road.
Mount Providence - a mountain range with through underground tunnels.
Silver Canyon - a steep canyon with dangerous cliffs and ramps.

To plunge into the atmosphere of street racing, NFS: Payback offers to play for three characters: Tyler, Sean and Jessica. Each of them has their own special skills, allowing them to pass difficult tracks and make maneuverable chases from the police. For racing, the player has access to dozens of different cars, both new and battered, found in the vastness deserts. Tyler has several garages in which he can repair and upgrade cars. To earn game currency, you can complete risky tasks, the main condition of which is not to fall into the hands of the police. Money is spent on tuning and styling, and new parts occasionally appear on the streets of the city. For each mission, certain skills and special cars are needed. To defeat opponents, the player has the right not only to use skill, but also cunning tricks, knocking other racers into a ditch.
